In 2011, a group of parents whose sons loved to play basketball got together to discuss what alternatives were available in addition to the host of recreational programs in the area. What they discovered is that there were none.

Their fundamentals had to be strengthened and their understanding of the game had to be expanded. They learned the need to be spend more time working on footwork and speed and less time launching 3 points shots. The saw firsthand that protecting the basketball was just as important as shooting it. With this commitment to improving and growing, Dunwoody United Basketball (DUB) began.

Our Growth

In the 7 years that have followed, DUB has slowly and strategically grown. We have partnered with MJCC of Atlanta to now call it our home. With 3 state of the art regulation sized courts in an inviting and safe environment, we now are able to offer a comprehensive array of programs. All of which are led by non-parent coaches who have vast basketball experience and a history of being positive influences on young men and women. These include:

• An intensive fall training program which this year included more than 60 players from grades 6th-11th.

• A try-out only winter season for middle school players with weekly practices and weekend games in a competitive league.

• Our signature spring program which in 2018 included 5 teams and 60 players. In 2019, we plan to field at least 8 teams with the addition of several girl’s teams so we can offer this unique opportunity to the young women in our community.
